Hello Friends,

I’d like to share some big, life-changing news! I have been accepted to be a part of an 11-month missions trip called the World Race, which is overseen by the interdenominational missionary organization, Adventures in Missions!

How did I come to this decision?

Although I have been a believer for a while, over these past few years, God has been doing a work in my soul. I was stuck in a place of complacency and was feeling distant from God. At the start of 2020, when Covid-19 restrictions were ramping up, God began removing all of my distractions and started restructuring my life. He didn’t just want to be a part of it, but He wanted my whole life to be centered around and grounded in Him.

As I grew in my love for God, my love for His church also grew. I started to learn more about brothers and sisters who have been persecuted for their faith, but who were still willing and joyful where God placed them to share the love of Christ with those around them. They chose to remain or go into difficult and uncomfortable areas to bring the gospel to people who may otherwise live and die without hearing it. And I felt God calling me to go and do the same.

What is the World Race?

World Race is a ministry of Adventures in Missions. Adventures was founded in 1989 and has taken over 130,000 people to more than 70 countries on missions trips. World Race is an 11-month missions trip around the world. As a racer, I will partner with and assist long-term missionaries and local partners in each of the 6 countries that I will be visiting, with a hope of creating long-term impact.

The main goal is to build relationships, to reach the poor, the oppressed, and the hopeless, and to love people like Christ. We will seek to honor and respect the communities that we visit, rather than approaching with a white savior mentality. We will be focusing on: church planting and activation, discipleship, community development, evangelism, student and children’s ministry, community outreach, serving refugees, and anti-trafficking ministry.

I will be departing on August 27th to head down to Georgia, where I will meet my team. We will go through 10 days of training, and then will head out on the World Race! We will expect to be back stateside in July 2023!

Countries I will be visiting:

  • Antigua, Guatemala
  • Craiova, Romania
  • Albania
  • Kosovo
  • Jordan
  • Chiang Mai, Thailand

Why the World Race?

In Matthew 28, Jesus gives us the great commission to go and make disciples of all nations. In Isaiah 6:8, the Lord asks “whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” These are just a few of many great passages that talk not only on God’s heart for reaching the unreached, but also His great plan for doing so in partnership with His Church! We’re not to just be hearers of the word, but to live it out!

There are many great missions organizations, but I have heard great things about the Race, and see it as a perfect opportunity to serve throughout the world, while also learning about and participating in different types of missions work.

What do I hope to learn?

Through this trip, I am hoping to grow in obedience and trust in the Lord, in boldness and confidence in the power of prayer, and in humility and compassion. I pray that I gain more of God’s heart for the lost and oppressed, and that I can demonstrate it in some small way to the people He will have me meet. I am also hoping to gain insight into whether God is calling me to long-term missions in the future.

Would you like to partner with me?

First and foremost, I would like to ask for you to be a prayer partner. I have seen the power of prayer, and it would give me tremendous joy and encouragement in knowing that you were praying for me.

Prayer Requests:

  • For my team and I to be fully prepared and equipped. I believe that God is using this time now to not only prepare us financially and materially, but also to prepare our hearts and our minds for the work He will have for us.
  • For my team and I to meet our fundraising goals.
  • For health and safety for my team and for our partners.
  • For God to guide our work, and for us to be attuned to listening to the Spirit and to be obedient.
  • For God to give us boldness in sharing the gospel, and for Him to lead each of our conversations.
  • For God to work now in the hearts of people we will meet, that they will be receptive to receiving the gospel. We may sow and water, but it’s God who brings the growth!

Secondly, I would like to ask you to partner with me financially. I am not going to ask you to make any decisions now. The only thing I will ask is that you take the next few days and pray about how God may be leading you.

To be fully funded, I am looking to raise $18,700. Funds would be put toward: 49% for transportation (plane, bus, train, taxi, or boat), 39% for field ministry (supplies, visas, food and lodging, health insurance), and 12% for home office expenses (training, discipleship, and debriefing).

If you would like to chat with me further, please leave a comment or send me an email at: [email protected].

Thank you so much, and God Bless!
